For the Political Junkies...

I stumbled upon a terrific website tonight that allows you to "browse every vote in the U.S. Congress since 1991." The Washington Post has a U.S. Congress Votes Database. There are probably other sites out there that serve the same purpose, but you would be hard-pressed to find one with more information than this site provides.

The database allows you to get a snapshot look at how your Congressman voted on every bill before the House or Senate. It is the political scene's equivalent of finding statistics on ESPN. You can find out who missed the vote, the vote margin, the most-voted-on bills, the key votes, whether the GOP or Democrats favored the bill, among other things. Perhaps the best aspect is that it produces a feed to allow you to subscribe just like you would to a blog so that as your representative or senator votes on a bill you receive notice of the result. There is more to the site than what I have been able to describe appropriately; make sure you visit.
